Don Imus Fallout: Same As It Ever Was in Robot Nation

We let people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do our thinking for usand in doing so we missed a golden opportunity to turn a negative into a positive. Instead of turning Don Imus into a powerful ally against the racism and sexism that most of us abhor, we gave in to our knee-jerk impulse to act first and think later. It was this lack of thought that caused us to pressure MSNBC and CBS Radio into firing Imus. And again, that question: What good does that do? Any racist or sexist who listened to Imus show now feels like he has a more compelling reason to hate. Why not use Imus in public service ads on his shows speaking with Sharpton, Jackson, and the Rutgers women's basketball team against racism and sexism? Think of the advantage that having someone like Imus on our side would give us: He reaches a bigger audience than Sharpton or Jackson could ever dream of reaching.

Why are they trying so hard to distract us?

Investor's Business Daily, most recently responsible for pressuring Target to get rid of CDs with a Che Guevara image because it showed support for totalitarianism (although not pressuring Target to stop using Chinese labor), had issues with Pelosi's head scarf.

Why? Where in reality do these people - from the editorial boards, to the talking heads, all of them - think they are, in comparison to the rest of us, that would excuse their behavior as anything but unethical, dishonest, and brutishly cynical?

Perhaps they are in a place where conscience is so easily bought and sold that they can pretend at decency and fool themselves convincingly. But they are not in a place from which the truth will ever venture out, not on purpose anyway. Truth may escape on occasion, and usually in broken parts, seemingly unrelated to a larger narrative, but by and large, this place of so called mainstream journalism is a wasteland, decadent and collapsing under its own Faustian deal.

50 Foot Michael Jackson Robot To Destroy Vegas

Michael Jackson is in discussions about creating a 50-foot robotic replica of himself to roam the Las Vegas desert, according to reports.

The pop legend is currently understood to be living in the city, as he considers making a comeback after 2004's turbulent child sex case.

It has now been claimed that his plans include an elaborate show in Vegas, which would feature the giant Jacko striding around the desert, firing laser beams.

No further comment. What more could possibly be said? Insert your own Mad Libs style joke here, possibly about a six foot tall nose made out of steel sliding off the robot's face and crushing a bowl-legged octogenarian.
